Norm Ratcliffe Chartered Accountant

Norm Ratcliffe

The Partners of Smythe Ratcliffe announce that Norm Ratcliffe has retired from the Firm effective May 1, 2009.

As a founding Partner, Norm has consistently exemplified the values of committed, timely service and loyal client relationships, and truly set the standard for effective leadership and a family culture within Smythe Ratcliffe. He is a well-respected individual within our Firm, and within the accounting and business communities.

Born in Alberta and raised in Kimberley, BC, Norm worked for Cominco in northern BC and Alberta before starting his career as a Chartered Accountant. Throughout his years as Managing Partner of Gardner McDonald's office in Prince George, and as a founding Partner in the Vancouver office of Smythe Ratcliffe, Norm has provided a wealth of knowledge in assurance and tax for many industries including telecommunications, cable and TV distribution, customs brokers, logging and not-for-profits.

We thank Norm for his outstanding leadership and for truly incorporating "clarity, passion, and balance" within our Firm. Over the years, Norm consistently made the effort to recognize and greet new staff, and could often be found in the kitchen brewing the morning coffee. We wish him all the best as he devotes his time to his passions of community involvement, woodworking, skiing, and his summer cabin at Moyie Lake.
