Not-For-Profit Organizations
A Priority for Our Community. A Priority for Our Firm.
Not-for-profit (NFP) organizations have needs that differ greatly from those of traditional businesses and often have different priorities. We understand these realities. We are proud of the accomplishments of our NFP clients and it is our responsibility to help by providing services beyond their expectations.
We are committed to our many NFP clients to provide timely and skilled service at a fair value. We have a growing NFP group that strives for leading professional services. Our experienced professionals have current knowledge of new accounting standards and tax rules impacting NFP organizations.
Experience
Over the past 30 years, we’ve grown our business to create a group specializing in NFP organizations and are able to service these clients with insight and proficiency on audit and non-audit matters. We have at least three partners and a dedicated team of managers and chartered accountants who specialize in work with NFP audits. We believe that our size is the key to our relationship with our clients – we are big enough to offer specific knowledge and expertise yet small enough to be accessible on a timely basis.
Through our affiliation with PKF we are linked internationally with 245 member firms in 125 countries. This gives our clients access to the knowledge base of firms that work with NFP organizations across the world, and allows us to remain up to date on best practices and leading-edge knowledge in this field.
Our Services
We offer a full range of services for our NFP clients including:
- Audit and accounting: We provide audit, review and notice to reader engagements, including advice on the options that are available for NFPs, including International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) or the new Accounting Standards for NFPs.
- Taxation planning and compliance: Taxation issues vary for different types of NFPs, including charitable organizations, and can be complex. Along with our tax specialists, we can help our NFPs to be tax-compliant and efficient.
- Advisory services: We offer various advisory services including due diligence, special reports and review of agreements.Corporate governance review: Often our NFP clients ask us to advise on the structure or mandate of various committees, such as Audit/Finance committees. We also advise on the formulation of financial policies, such as investment policy.
